TRAVEL TIPS

- Physical Fitness: Make sure you’re in good physical condition. Follow a training program that includes cardio, strength, and endurance exercises for at least a few weeks before your trip.
- Medical Check-Up: Consult your family doctor for a medical check-up to ensure you’re fit for high-altitude activities. Don’t forget to carry any necessary medications.
- Book in Advance: Reserve your spot on the tour well ahead of time, especially during peak seasons. This guarantees availability for your preferred dates and package.
- Travel Insurance: Get comprehensive travel insurance that covers adventure activities like cycling. It offers peace of mind in case of accidents or unexpected events.
- Cycling Gear: Bring a well-fitted helmet, gloves, padded cycling shorts, and cycling jersey.

- Clothes: A few change of clothes for post cycling explorations.

- Weather Conditions: The weather, especially in high altitude trails, can change rapidly. Be prepared for weather changes by carrying essential items in your day pack.
- Emergency Plan: Be aware of medical facilities and other required emergency help as instructed by the Country Roads Team
- Adhere to the Route: Avoid straying from the prescribed route. If you wish to explore beyond it, obtain permission from your tour leader. Their decision will be final.
- Acclimatization: On high-altitude expeditions, allow time for your body to adjust to the elevation to help prevent altitude sickness.
- Follow Your Guide: Country Roads guides are experienced and well-informed about local conditions and terrain. Always listen to and follow their instructions.
- Nutrition and Hydration: Drink plenty of water and eat nutritious meals to maintain your energy levels through out the tour. You will get ample opportunities to try local cuisines during tours as part of your meals.
- Respect Local Culture: Be respectful of local customs, dress modestly, and always ask for permission before taking photographs of people.
- Stretching Exercises: Perform stretching exercises before and after cycling each day to help prevent injury and reduce muscle soreness
- Help Keep Trails Garbage Free: Do not litter on the way during the tour. Keep a small bag with you to carry all your trash until you find proper disposal facilities.
- Rest and Recover: Give yourself time to rest and recover after the tour. Your body will need time to recuperate from the physical exertion. Enjoy the feeling that comes after completing an amazing tour on cycle..

Select your expedition on our website and follow the prescribed steps. Incase you have any queries you can connect with us on 8104913501 or email us at cyclist@countryroadscycling.in and we will guide you. You have an option to pay 25% of the expedition to book your seat or full upfront payment. It is important to note that the remaining balance must be settled 20 days prior to the commencement of the expedition.
Dont worry.. you can reach out to us on 8104913501 or email us on cyclist@countryroadscycling.in to change your expedition. The change of expedition is free of charge upto 20days prior to expedition.
If you wish to cancel your expedition , drop us an email at cyclist@countryroadscycling.in and our team will connect with you on the procedures of cancelations of expedition. The refund and adjustments will be done as per the company’s refund policy.
It can be pretty overwhelming, especially for a beginner, to choose the right expedition. Yes, travel insurance is must for all our trips. It ensures you’re covered for any unexpected situations, such as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, or lost belongings. We recommend choosing a policy that includes coverage for cycling-related activities and trip cancellations.
The maximum number of Cyclists would be 20.
We encourage all Cyclists to ride at their own pace. Our guide and support van working in tandem will ensure that all the Cyclists are taken care of during the ride.
A support van accompanies our riders every day. If at any point of time you no longer feel like riding, you can always rest in the van, while the other members of the group can continue biking.
The start time for each day may vary depending on the weather/climate and distance to be covered on that day. Your guide will brief you about the start time before each day’s riding.
Please limit your luggage to one soft-sided medium-sized suitcase and one carry-on bag.
We recommend carrying a universal travel adapter to ensure compatibility.
Yes, we provide the bicycle on rent. We mention the types of bicycles available on rent in Tour Details based on the terrain.
Height of the Cyclist is the most important factor that we keep in mind while allotting the cycle with right frame size to the Cyclist.
We do provide helmets on rent but please note that these are standard sized helmets. We recommend bringing your own helmet for a better fit.
Yes you can. Our team mechanic will be happy to help fit it to your bike.
No, there is no need to bring bike tools or locks. We have all the necessary tools and locks with us. However, if you are bringing your own bike and it requires any special tools for repairs, please bring those along.
No, we don’t provide SPD pedals. If you prefer riding with cleats, we recommend bringing your own SPD pedals. Our team mechanic will be happy to help fit them to your bike.
MTB/Hybrid are suitable for bicycle expedition. These bicycle are more comfortable than road bikes because of the suspensions and the designs.
Yes, you have to submit your one ID proof and Rs 2,000/- as security at the time of allotment of cycle. But this amount will be returned back to you at the end of the tour when you will return the bicycle.
Your itinerary indicates which meals are covered and which are chargeable. The majority of your meals are included in the itinerary, and our guides have carefully planned dining options for each destination to not only give you a variety but also a taste of the local cuisine.
Please inform us about your food allergies while booking the tour. We will communicate all your dietary restrictions to our local guides who are native to the region and familiar with the regional cuisine and ingredients. They will assist you in selecting appropriate dishes that do not contain any ingredient that you are allergic to.
With proper preparation, gear, and precautions, anyone can cycling on any route in any conditions.
Yes, fitness is important, especially in tough high altitude routes as they involve lots of climbs and slopes. This would require certain level of fitness to be able to handle such conditions as well as enjoy the ride.
Cardio vascular exercise are a good way to improve you stamina and agility.. weight training to improve your strength and yoga to improve your lung capacity and flexibility. Periodic cycling will also help you build the cycling muscles that would be needed especially during challenging climbs. Start your fitness program atleast 2 months before the tour. Also keep in mind that expeditions are as much about physical strength as about mental strength. It always good to consult a doctor to get a regular checkup done before a tough/long tour.
Safety and well-being of you Cyclists is paramount at Country Roads. Following are the measures we follow:
- Country Roads Team: A ride marshal, a local guide, a cycle mechanic will always be available at all rides. They will have indepth knowledge about cycling, terrains and safety.
- Cycle Checks: Your cycle will be checked in the morning before the ride and in the evening after the ride. They will try to resolve any bicycle-related issues faced by the Cyclists.
- Support Vehicles: We will provide support vehicle that will be we equipped to address issues such as fatigue, injuries, or unexpected challenges.
- Briefing: Prior to the to tour, we conduct a thorough briefing to educate the Cyclists on routes, potential hazards and safety guidelines. We also conduct a briefing every evening of the tour to provide information about the route for the next day.
- Weather Monitoring: We stay informed about weather conditions, making informed decisions based on forecasts to ensure the safety of our participants.
- Route Recce: Before each expedition, we inspect cycling routes for potential risks, road conditions, and any changes that may impact safety.
- Fitness Requirements: We clearly outline the fitness standards required for our expeditions, ensuring participants are physically prepared for the challenges of cycling in diverse terrains.
- Insurance: We require participants to have adequate travel and medical insurance coverage, verifying that policies include cycling-related activities.

Our guides are trained in basic first aid and carry first aid kits with them. They are also familiar with the nearest hospitals on our cycling routes. In case of emergencies, we can always use our support van to drive guests to the nearest hospital.
Yes team will be equiped with first aid Medical Kit and Oxygen Cylinders in case of high altitude tours.And in case of any medical emergency, team will take the rider to the near by hospital.
